In an effort to reach out to the homeless in our communities, both to assist with immediate needs such as blankets, warm clothing, toiletries and non-perishable food, and to get an accurate count of the number of people enduring homelessness, there will be a gathering of non-profits at North Parish Congregational Church (895 Main Street, Sanford), from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 30, 2020.
Representatives from Nasson Health Care, York County Community Action Corp., Preble Street Resource Center, Opportunity Alliance, the VA, other veteran service organizations, local churches, and the Elks, to name a few, will be on hand to provide assistance.
If you know of individuals experiencing homelessness, whether living on the street, in cars, or even couch-surfing, please advise them to visit North Parish Congregational Church on January 30. There will be food, coffee, supplies—and a place to get warm and talk with local providers. There will also be a survey to fill out that will help with a census of the homeless in York County.
