If you are having a hard time paying for heat or electricity, you are not alone! The YCCAC Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) helps eligible homeowners and renters supplement home heating and energy costs.

Each year, more than 7,000 individuals and families in York County heat their homes with help from HEAP.
If you are experiencing an Energy Crisis, please call the Energy Crisis Intervention Program at 207-324-5762, Monday – Friday from 8am-2pm. Outside of scheduled business hours, below is a list of resources that may be able to assist.
- If you are experiencing an after-hours emergency, and heat with #2 oil or kerosene you can buy 5 gallons (or more) of kerosene at a time to put into your oil fill.
- Call or access 211. This is a free, confidential information and referral service that connects people of all ages across Maine to local services. 211 is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You can call 211, text your zip code to 207-898-211, or email info@211maine.org
- Contact your local General Assistance program. Every town and city in the State of Maine offers a General Assistance program. Contact your local Town or City Hall to find out if you qualify.
- The YCCAC Outreach Program may be able to connect you with a resource; they can be reached at 207-459-2899, or by emailing outreach@yccac.org
- Veterans can call their local VFW to ask about help with heating resources.
- You can check with your fuel company to see if they will deliver to you on credit.
