The CDC guidance (see below) provide eligibility information for those vaccinated with the Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson and Johnson vaccines. Dear Patients,

Last week the CDC issued guidance for the administration of booster shots for those vaccinated against COVID-19 with Pfizer, Moderna or Johnson and Johnson vaccines.

Moderna and Pfizer Boosters: For individuals who received a Moderna or Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine, the following groups are eligible for a booster dose of vaccine 6 months or more after their initial series:

• 65 years of age and older
• Ages 18+ who live in long-term care settings
• Ages 18+ who have underlying medical conditions
• Ages 18+ who work or live in high-risk settings

Johnson and Johnson Boosters: If you received the Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 vaccine, booster shots are recommended for those who are 18 and older and who were vaccinated two or more months ago regardless of health status.

The CDC has allowed for mixing and matching, which means you may opt for the same vaccine you were initially vaccinated with or switch to a different vaccine.
