Getting a COVID-19 vaccination is a personal decision. We all weight the benefits against the risk, and then decide.

But we also see—have seen, for more than a year now—the devastation COVID-19 has brought to our communities, our state, our nation: to the world. The danger is not incidental, the suffering and loss of life is real.

York County Community Action Corporation joins the federal and the Maine CDC in strongly recommending that everyone eligible get vaccinated against COVID-19 as soon as possible.

Nasson Health Care, located at 15 Oak Street in Springvale, offers walk-in and scheduled vaccinations whenever the health center is open. Most local pharmacies (Hannaford, Walgreen, CVS) also offer walk-in and scheduled COVID-19 vaccinations. For those who are homebound, Northern Light Health and Maine’s area Agency on Aging can help bring the COVID vaccine to you. Call 888-445-4111 to see if you can get a vaccine delivered to you and administered by a licensed professional.
