HHS Awards Nasson Health Care nearly $50,000 to support Health Center Quality Improvement

Nasson Health Care, a division of York County Community Action Corporation, was recently awarded $49,994 for Health Center Quality Improvement. The grant funding was announced on August 20 by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), Nasson will use the grant to improve the quality, efficiency, and value of the health care it provides.

The categories for which Nasson was recognized, and the awarded grants, are: Clinical Quality Improvers ($10,247), Health Center Quality Leaders ($24,747), Access Enhancers ($10,000), and Advancing Health Information Technology (HIT) for Quality ($5,000).

Nasson was one of eighteen Maine health centers—and 1,237 health centers across nearly all U.S. states, territories and the District of Columbia—to receive Quality Improvement Awards.

HRSA’s Quality Improvement Awards recognize the work that health centers do to address health priorities by designating health centers that ranked in the top 1-2% in one or more key areas—behavioral health, diabetes prevention and management, and heart health—as National Quality Leaders. The top 30% of health centers that achieve the best overall clinical performance receive designation as Health Center Quality Leaders.
