YCCAC partners with the IRS to offer free tax preparation services through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.
IRS-Certified volunteers help prepare and file basic Federal and State tax returns as well as help to determine eligibility for special tax credits, such as the Earned Income Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit and Credit for the Elderly or Disabled.
To qualify, your combined household income must be $69,000 or less.
4 WAYS TO FILE
- IN-PERSON: In-person appointments are offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays, between 9am and 3pm from February 3-April 14. Schedule an appointment by calling (207) 324-5762, ext. 2718.
- IN-PERSON SCAN AND GO: Use our checklist to gather all of your documents and schedule a time to visit our Sanford office where we will scan your documents and our team will e-file your taxes remotely. - FULLY VIRTUAL SERVICE: Between February 3-April 8, start the process online by visiting www.GetYourRefund.org/YCCAC. Answer questions, upload your documents, and e-sign. Our Volunteers will complete and e-file your return.
- DIY: File your taxes yourself for free. Visit www.MyFreeTaxes.com and e-file your taxes. Access to a helpline is available for this service.
