YCCAC is pleased to announce that most transportation services suspended in late March will soon resume regular operation.
All public transportation provided by YCCAC will be fare-free through October 2020. There will be a maximum seating capacity permitted on each vehicle, using only available seats. All riders will be required to wear face coverings, with the exception of those with prohibitive medical conditions, those who would not be able to maintain normal functions by wearing a covering, and those who are not able to remove their mask without assistance. Children under two years should not wear face coverings. If a rider does not have a face covering, one will be provided. Please remember to cover your cough/sneeze (“cough/sneeze into your elbow”).
There will be no availability for those using the vehicles to just get out and ride around, sometimes referred to “joy riding.”
The WAVE will be operating seven days per week, as before, and will require calling (48) hours ahead to make your reservation.
The Orange Line will commence operating on the Spring and Summer Schedule, available on our website or from the driver.
Sanford Transit will continue to operate daily, Monday through Friday, on the regular schedule.
The local rides program (also known as Shoppers Run) will begin services on Monday, June 15, 2020, and will again require advance reservations.
The Tuesday service for the Town of Kennebunk, Kennebunk In-Town Transportation (KITT) will commence on Tuesday, June 2, 2020, under the same operating requirements as noted above.
The Monday through Friday Southern Maine Connector service from Springvale to the Saco Transportation Center will commence on Monday, June 1, 2020, under the same operating requirements as noted above.
As previously announced, the award-winning seasonal program, Shoreline Explorer, has been suspended for the 2020 season.
