YCCAC Board President, Claudette Dupee, shared the podium with Maine’s Commissioner of Transportation, Bruce Van Note, on Thursday, to mark the kick off of “Transit Tomorrow”.  Transit Tomorrow is an initiative designed to bring coordination and collaboration to the seven transit providers in southern Maine.  These include, besides YCCAC, the AMTrak Rail Service, Portland Metro Bus system, Casco Bay Ferries, and Shuttle Bus/Zoom, among others.

Claudette highlighted the critical role that transit plays in economic development, getting vulnerable folks to medical appointments, and adult learners to educational opportunities.  Improving public transit options of all modes is an important priority for the region.
