There are a number of ways through which you can support YCCAC, volunteer your time, and/ or offer input to one of our programs.  We value your opinion as we continually strive to improve our programs and services.

Volunteering with Us:

We can always use an extra helping hand, and we welcome you to offer your time, experience, or skill as a Volunteer.  There are a number of opportunities to volunteer with us, including, but not limited to:

  • As a Volunteer Financial Coach;
  • Providing administrative or program support;
  • Working with our team to do light maintenance;
  • As a Volunteer Income Tax preparer (sign-up in the fall); and/or
  • Helping people enroll in a health insurance plan as a Certified Application Counselor.

You can see our listing of volunteer opportunities at Get Connected--Volunteer Maine.

Volunteer at an Event:

We are always looking for volunteers to help us with our community events, including our Care4Kids 5K event in the spring, and other fundraisers held throughout the year.  To learn more about volunteering at an upcoming event, please contact Brad Bohon, Director of Community Relations, at (207) 324-5762, extension 2964, or by email at brad.bohon@yccac.org.

YCCAC Focus Groups:

YCCAC periodically looks for volunteers to offer input on various programs or initiatives we are doing.  We are interested in your experience as a community member and consumer of our services, and hearing your ideas about how we can improve.   Currently, we are looking for folks who might be interested in becoming a member of our Thriving in Place (TiP) Consumer Advisory Committee.  Because of the nature of the project, participants must be either an older adult (65+), an adult with a disability, or a caregiver of an older or disabled adult.  The group meets monthly, and YCCAC provides lunch and transportation.  If you are interested in becoming a member of the TiP Consumer Advisory Committee, please contact Robin Hewitt Bibber, at (207) 324-5762, extension 2989.

Board of Directors:

YCCAC is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors.  If you are interested in finding out more about this, please see Membership on YCCAC’s Board of Directors page.
