Wheels to Access Vocation and Education (WAVE)
The WAVE transports riders to training and job sites, and their children to daycare, with general public trips on a space-available basis. Our blue and white vans operate for most first, second, and third shifts, 7 days per week. Trips must be arranged in advance.
Residents of towns in York County covered by The WAVE may call 459-WAVE (459-9283) between 7:30a.m. and 4:30p.m., Monday through Friday, for information. The current service is for an area including Sanford-Springvale, and parts of Alfred and Wells, as well as parts of Lyman and Biddeford.
For MaineCare Transportation:
Since August 1, 2013, anyone in York County who has MaineCare and needs to set up transportation to an eligible medical service must call the new MaineCare Broker for York County, Logisticare, to set up transportation. Logisticare may be reached at 1-877-659-1302.
When you call Logisticare, you will speak with a Logisticare Customer Service Representative who will ask a series of questions to confirm both your eligibility and the eligibility of the trip(s) you need to make. Once eligibility is determined, Logisticare will determine what transportation provider will provide your trip.
All trips are arranged in advance by calling 459-WAVE. Riders are asked for their work or training schedules, and whether they need to get their children to childcare. General public trips may include medical appointments and shopping. Van and Bus trips are scheduled to provide the most convenient service possible, given operating constraints. Riders need to call with any changes in their schedules 48 hours before a trip.
Fares depend on what town a rider lives in and where he or she is going. Fares depend on what town a rider lives in and where he or she is going. All fares must be paid in advance of rides. All fares must be paid in advance of rides.
